Roomba robot vacuums
by iRobot
Status note · Sep 21, 2026
Robot vacuums are covered by the FCC's July 28, 2026 rule on foreign-produced robots when they meet its definition (over 4.4 lb, a sensor, 200 kbps connectivity and AI software). Roombas already sold and models authorized before that date remain sellable, with limited firmware updates protected through January 1, 2029; new foreign-produced models cannot be authorized without a Department of War Conditional Approval or domestic-end-product status. iRobot's company label is FCC Restriction (ownership by China-based Shenzhen Picea Robotics since January 2026); this model page carries its own end date.
Valid until Jan 1, 2029.
