Who we are

unit.report is operated by UNITELO AI LLC, a New York limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information we collect through unit.report, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@unitelo.ai.

What we collect

Sourcing requests. If you submit a request through "Request sourcing help," we collect what you enter: your name, email address and company; optionally your role, phone number and company website; what you want to source (the product, category or job, and your description); how many units and locations; where it would be deployed (country, state or region, and optionally city); your timeline and buying stage; optionally a budget range; the kinds of support you would need; any additional requirements; and any companies you ask us to consider. We do not ask for a street address, payment details or government identification. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address to help detect abuse, and the page you came from.

Manufacturer and channel inquiries. If you submit the manufacturer and channel inquiry form, we collect your name, email, company, inquiry type, website, area of interest, country and your message.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to The Weekly Signal, we collect your email address and record when you subscribed, confirmed or unsubscribed. We use a confirmation email (double opt-in): you are not added to the list until you confirm.

Server logs. Like most websites, our servers record technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. We use it to keep the site secure and reliable.

Analytics (optional, your choice). unit.report offers Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used. It is off unless you accept it. When you first visit, a notice asks you to accept or reject analytics, with equal prominence, and nothing is sent to Google Analytics until you accept. If you accept, it records page views, the pages and links people use, searches made on the site (the number of results and their types, not the text typed), clicks on source and sourcing links, whether a sourcing form is started or submitted, and technical information such as browser, device, referring site and approximate location derived from the IP address. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or the contents of sourcing requests or inquiries to Google Analytics. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and we do not enable advertising features or ad personalization. You can use the site fully whichever you choose.

Changing your choice. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage on this device (an entry named unitreport_analytics_consent holding only "granted" or "denied"). To change it at any time, use the "Analytics settings" link in the footer of any page. If you reject after accepting, analytics stops and Google Analytics cookies on this site are removed where your browser allows it. If you clear your browser storage, you will be asked again.

Essential storage and optional analytics. The site sets two essential technical cookies, a session cookie and a security token, which forms need in order to work and to keep the site secure. These do not depend on your analytics choice. We also store your light or dark theme preference and your analytics choice in your browser's local storage; they stay on your device. Only if you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognize a browser across visits. You can also block them in your browser settings or use Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.

What we do not do. unit.report does not run advertising pixels or use tracking for advertising, and you do not need an account to read the site. Staff sign in to a separate admin area.

How we use it

To read and respond to sourcing requests and inquiries, and to look into possible sourcing paths for a request; to send the newsletter you asked for; to keep the site secure and prevent abuse; to understand how the site is used and improve it; and to fix technical problems. We may contact manufacturers, distributors or other suppliers in order to pursue a request you submitted, and we share only the details needed for that. A request is not sent to suppliers automatically. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers and third parties

We use a small number of providers to run the site: our hosting provider, an email delivery provider (Resend) to send newsletter and confirmation emails and to notify us of new requests, and an email hosting provider for the hello@unitelo.ai mailbox. They process information only to provide those services to us.

Google also provides Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics (described above). Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and photos, schematics and videos from their original publishers or content delivery networks. Those third parties may receive standard request information, such as your IP address and browser details, when your browser fetches their content.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe; we retain a record of the unsubscribe so we honor it. Sourcing requests and inquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and to keep ordinary business records. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. We delete or correct information on request, subject to legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every issue. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing hello@unitelo.ai. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use HTTPS for data in transit and restrict access to stored information to authorized personnel. Sourcing requests are visible only to signed-in staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

unit.report is a business reference site not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
