Starship Technologies
Estonia / United States
Status note · Sep 22, 2026
Label changed to FCC Restriction on Sep 22, 2026 after an audit against the FCC's primary documents. The FCC added foreign-produced ground-mobile robots to its Covered List on Jul 28, 2026. The rule covers humanoids, quadrupeds and other ground-mobile robots over 4.4 lb. New foreign-produced models cannot receive FCC equipment authorization unless they qualify as a Buy American domestic end product or receive a Department of War Conditional Approval (apply by Jan 1, 2028); models authorized earlier can be sold through Jan 1, 2029. This label rests on Starship's sidewalk delivery robots, engineered and produced out of its founding Tallinn, Estonia base, despite a San Francisco business headquarters; whether any exemption applies has not yet been confirmed with the company.
