South Korea
Status note · Sep 22, 2026
Label changed to FCC Restriction on Sep 22, 2026 after an audit against the FCC's primary documents. The FCC added foreign-produced ground-mobile robots to its Covered List on Jul 28, 2026. Robot vacuums are covered when they meet the rule's definition (over 4.4 lb, a sensor, 200 kbps connectivity and AI software). New foreign-produced models cannot receive FCC equipment authorization unless they qualify as a Buy American domestic end product or receive a Department of War Conditional Approval (apply by Jan 1, 2028); models authorized earlier can be sold through Jan 1, 2029. This label rests on the product class: Samsung's Jet Bot robot vacuums are foreign-made and were named directly as affected by news coverage of the FCC's rule; whether any exemption applies has not yet been confirmed with the company.
